Given that this software platform serves as the basis for the ISV, continuous annual license maintenance is required, which includes updating to new versions of the licensed software. To ensure the ISV functions properly and meets the needs of AVP Sava Sarajevo, it is also necessary to maintain the developed web-based user applications for alphanumeric data entry and updates, as well as web GIS viewers, alongside the maintenance and administration of ArcSDE spatial databases. The ESRI ArcGIS software packages were donated to the Water Sector in BiH by the EC through the EC CARDS project (EC BIH 05/024) under Contract No. 2005/113-783 (EuropeAid/120908/C/S/BA Lot 7); the maintenance and upgrading of this software—which forms the foundation of the ISV—is an obligation of the user, AVP Sava Sarajevo, pursuant to the Law on Waters (Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH, No. 70/06). Maintenance entails upgrades and updates to the licensed software provided by the manufacturer, ESRI (USA), through authorized distributors, as well as support for resolving any defects or operational difficulties within the system.
